I met Rosa at Tai Poutini Polytechnic.  We were both working on projects within some of our shared areas of expertise: curriculum development and quality.  We quickly became friends and today share the values of whānau/family, manaakitanga/hospitality, kotahitanga/togetherness, wairuatanga/spirituality.

Rosa is positive, discrete, sensitive to other people’s needs and wants, and able to work cooperatively.   Rosa can engage with people to bring out the best in them and can communicate clearly in any form.  She has an amazing ability to listen to people, respond and then sit back as required.  This ability creates a quick rapport with whom Rosa is working and shows the skills and emotional intelligence of a good leader.  Rosa possesses the aptitudes to manage difficulties or challenges that may come her way and has a very strong analytical mind.

Since 2017, I have worked with Rosa Heney in several capacities including co-organiser, client, and parent of children involved in projects Rosa organised under Rosa Heney Creative Ltd. Rosa is a highly skilled organiser. Her attention to detail and sensitivity to all participants' needs has gained her respect within our local community as a trusted team leader who gets results and brings the best out in all team members. Rosa's work with West Coast Young Filmmakers is a testament to her dedication to creating opportunities for youth in our community. Through their interactions with Rosa, my children have gained confidence in themselves and their artistic processes, and have been motivated to collaborate with their peers in order to meet their dreams.

Rosa developed a fantastic drawing course at the Tai Poutini Polytechnic. I was a lucky student, to had her as a Teacher. She was enthusiastic, committed to the students, knowledgeable and inspirational. She rekindled my thirst for knowledge again and I consider her as the key influence, which motivated me to continue my study. Now I have successfully completed in 2014 a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) at Massey University in Wellington. I can only highly recommend her as a teacher and teaching program developer of outstanding qualities.

Thanks Rosa and her team of amazingly talented people.  Max has had the best time, learnt heaps and is keen to carry it on (flimmaking).  Having this opportunity on the coast is something special!

Our logo is brilliant, beautifully reflecting that balance between the creative and the more structured aspects of our organisation.  But the best part of commissioning this logo was the process - working with Rosa was fun and felt very supportive!  We got a lot further than we hoped.  Thank you very much, Rosa!
